ALASKA

September 6, 2019 I took a birthday trip to Anchorage, Alaska for one of my best friends, Kali. Kali, her boyfriend Zach, and I were able to explore this amazing state for an extended weekend. I started my adventure by picking up this cute couple at Rust’s flying service where there is a water plane that takes you across the glaciers and mountainous views from an aerial perspective. After retrieving my friends we went to go view Beluga Point for some whale watching! Eagle River in Anchorage is breath taking. I highly recommend doing this hike to take in all the views. We also got to go on a boat tour to spot sea critters. This 4-hout boat tour came with fresh crab, salmon, and steak from Alaska and of course we had to indulge in some adult beverages to make it a booze cruise through the Kenai Peninsula. After the long boat tour (I would recommend doing the 2 hour tour) we went to Kenai Fjords National park to hike the glacier! Kali was too scared but Zach and I went off the beaten path to go under the glacier and on top of it!—what a cool experience. (Be careful) Later on, we decided to meet up with a college friend that now lives in Alaska at a local bar to have beer and pizza. I would say that my favorite experience in Alaska would have had to be going to Chuiak State park to go kayaking on Eklunta Lake that is surrounded by hellacious mountains. IF you ever get the chance to visit this unreal state, make sure you have some fireweed icecream- it is made from a weed that grows rapidly in Alaska from forest fires.

XOXO,

JASE
